Properly trimmed, eyebrows complement the other delicate facial features of a woman. On the other hand, bushy, excessively hairy eyebrows are commonly considered as undesirable and, in most societies, will likely clip the dating and marriage chances of women unfortunately having them.

Since tweezers are readily available in supermarkets and drugstores and are quite easy to use, women can modify and trim their eyebrows according to their preferences and have this done in the comfort of their homes. With tweezers, women have more control over the trimming process. With tweezers, the amount of unwanted hair to be removed as well as the specific eyebrow look or style may be achieved easier. Once a tweezer is on hand, a woman may pluck out any stray hair strand that she thinks diminishes her facial appeal. Some women also think that the pain resulting from plucking one hair strand at a time is more bearable compared with removing a patch of hair as in the case of eyebrow waxing. 

The main drawback with tweezing is that it takes quite a while to achieve the particular beauty effect a woman is aiming at, especially if the woman has particularly hairy eyebrows.  

This factor makes waxing a good eyebrow trimming alternative. With waxing, more amount of hair may be removed within a fraction of the time it will take to do the same procedure using a pair of tweezers. Waxing also requires far less maintenance compared with using tweezers because the hair removed by waxing generally takes more time to grow again.   

However, waxing is more painful compared to tweezing as experienced by many women. It causes redness and irritation in the affected area that could make women feel uncomfortable for hours and even an entire day. Waxing may also result to ingrown hair appearing in the affected area.
